My name is Myat Win, I am a rising junior and an Early Master’s student pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Web and Mobile Application and a minor in mathematics in the College of Computing and Informatics of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am working on a Smart Walker IoT under Dr. Turgut and Dr. Bölöni to enhance real-time navigation in elderly and vision-impaired individuals through an obstacle aversion predictive model. My partner, Laura Figueroa, and I are utilizing Google’s Scalable and Efficient Object Detection, EfficientDet-D5, to bring this exciting project into reality this summer!
