I am Estefanía Sánchez, a rising senior at the University of Central Florida studying Computer Science. This summer I, along with my partner Caitlin Petro, will be working under Dr. Damla Turgut and Dr. Ladislau Bölöni to perform research on an IoT augmented scale model of a suburban home. We will be improving the realism of the model by adding various appliances to simulate different climates and changing the model setup to be more flexible for future experimentation. Our goal is to use machine learning techniques to accurately predict the temperature inside the house in different scenarios so that in the future the house can react to those environmental changes based on the predictions.
