Caitlin Petro
Hey-o. My name is Caitlin Petro and I am a rising Junior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte studying Computer Science. During the summer of 2021, my partner Estefania Sanchez and I are working under faculty mentors Damla Turgut and Ladislau Bölöni and graduate students Safa Bacanli and Furkan Cimen on the “IoT augmented physical scale model of a suburban home” project. The purpose of this research project is to perform accelerated experiments in various simulated environments on our scaled home. Our ultimate goal is to develop a smart-home program that predicts and regulates temperature in an energy-efficient and cost-effective manner.
